Will a sole proprietorship save me on taxes if I have an outside income of over 160K?

I am planning on buying a condo and renting it to my son and his friend. Thus, I am not worried about liability. I make over 160K a year, so a LLC would not provide me any tax benefits on my yearly income. Would a sole proprietorship provide any benefits?
