Is it normal to hear sounds at a lower volume,than normal,in nokia N72 while listening thru headset?

Dust might have clogged in earphone. Do u use any cover or cristal case ? it can also reduce sound performance. Notice this issue to Nokia Service center. Or call Nokia Toll Free - 18004253388 (Only from BSNL.MTNL landline)
